Hermitage knocked out four home runs, three in the first inning, en route to a 9-4 victory over Stafford in the Spring Break Tournament Wednesday afternoon.
After Chance Pauley singled to start the bottom of the first inning, Jamie Rooker took Stafford pitcher Trey Embrey deep for a two-run shot.
Derek Britt followed with a solo homer, and Damian Jones lifted a three-run homer all before Embrey could find a rhythm.
Darren McLeod threw a complete-game, three-hitter with seven strikeouts for the Panthers.
Hermitage fell in the night capper to Matoaca, ranked second in the latest DigitalSports Top 10, 6-5 as Tyler Coleman‘s three-run homer in the top of the seventh was good enough for the win.
